Joint filing is only an option for married couples and unmarried partners in a "união de facto" who both live in Portugal for tax purposes.

How many children or other dependants live with you?Children under 18, or under 25 if studying and earning less than the minimum wage.

First year you earned income while not someone's dependantOnly matters if you are 35 or under. Leave empty if you are not sure. I was under the NHR or IFICI regime, or used "Programa Regressar"

All of this is on e-fatura (faturas.portaldasfinancas.gov.pt), under "Benefícios fiscais". Leave anything you do not have at zero.

Your expensesGeneral family expenses e-fatura, "Despesas gerais familiares". Supermarket, utilities, clothes: most everyday invoices with your NIF.Health e-fatura, "Saúde". Doctors, pharmacy, dentist, health insurance.Education e-fatura, "Educação".
